Getting ready for flu season

Flu season in Ontario usually runs from late fall through early spring. Getting your flu shot in the fall gives your body time to build protection before the virus starts circulating widely.

The flu shot is recommended for almost everyone six months and older, and it’s especially important for seniors, young children, pregnant patients, and anyone with a chronic condition such as asthma, diabetes, or heart disease. It’s free for people who live, work, or study in Ontario.

In Ontario, participating pharmacies can give flu shots to people aged two years and older. Children under two need to visit a doctor, nurse practitioner, or local public health unit. Call us or request an appointment online to confirm vaccine availability and a suitable time. Ask our pharmacist whether you can receive a COVID-19 vaccine at the same visit.
